I really love this author’s book. The protagonists are real, with real human frailties and insecurities and they are what I call good people despite or because of their humanity.Not only does he know her, Trent takes on her case and promises to do everything he can to solve it. He wants to know why she left town, with her parents, but without a word to anyone. She doesn’t remember that life. She can only tell him she knew her parents briefly before they died . . . or were murdered, she’s not sure. She hopes regaining her memory will help answer that question. More Than Memories is a steamy, dream-come-true, second chance romance. I fell in love with Shane in More Than Lies and have been waiting, rather impatiently, for his story. I initially started to give a very harsh review, but wanted to be certain. So, after a second listen, here goes. Storyline: Very good premise, but this just ends. The whole "mystery" just gets put out and like magic everything is square. It almost felt like the author just wanted to get it over. The author tried to explain why a man born and raised in Oregon has a southern drawl ("where did the drawl come from? "), but it didn't fly to a person born and raised in Oregon. I grew up around plenty of good ol' boys in Oregon, but none sounded like they were from the south, even the ones with a southern parent. This was one of the best second chance romances I've read in a long time. Loved everything about this book. Shane and Whitney's love was so beautiful and their connection was amazing to read about. Yes, there was a romance between the two characters as Molly tried to uncover the truth to her past but the romance didn’t take away from Molly’s predicament and or the mystery of the book. This is the second book I have read by Kristen James and I enjoyed it much more than the other one (A Cowboy for Christmas). The characters were believable and the situation Molly found herself in was interesting. The story was not totally unique but it did hold my attention to the end, I really wanted to know what had happened to make Molly and her family up and leave town so suddenly four years ago-It had to be a good reason to make her leave a man like Trent!
